Mineral makeup is made to accommodate the entire face. That includes the lips, too. If you are using makeup at all, it is to enhance your overall look. If you want to dress up those lips as well, mineral lip glosses can give you what you need in the tradition of fine mineral makeup.

You might be thinking that mineral cosmetics are powders. How are you going to apply powders to your lips? It’s true that most mineral makeup is a pressed or loose powder created from natural earth minerals.

Mineral powders can be used on all areas of your face including your lips. Many colors can be mixed with one another to create a new shade for your eyes, cheeks and yes, your lips. But also minerals can be applied to lipsticks and lip glosses for long lasting beautiful wear.

Mineral lip gloss

The mineral lip glosses look just like traditional lip gloss but that is where the similarities end. With natural glosses ingredients include natural oils, nut butters, fruit butters and beeswax to create a smooth, rich color and feel for your lips. Also, of course, the mineral lip gloss contains the minerals: zinc oxide, mica, titanium oxide and iron oxides for color.

Some mineral lip glosses and lipsticks don’t use beeswax. This works well for the vegan makeup wearers who want to look their best and healthiest which would be to use mineral cosmetics. Mineral lip glosses are not tested on animals. They contain no synthetic preservatives but are naturally preserved.

Choosing a lip gloss

Choosing a lip gloss is just like choosing a lipstick. First, you want a color that will complement your skin tone for day wear. The best look of beauty is to enhance the amazing features that you already have. Mineral cosmetics do that quite well.

In the evening, go wild. Your lip gloss shade can be bolder. You do the same for your eye shadow. If you want a new shade, mix a couple of mineral powders together and see what you get. Mixing is the way to get what you want if you don’t see it available anywhere. Mix some powder with a dab of your lip gloss. They contain the same natural minerals so it’s okay.

Applying mineral lip gloss

You apply mineral lip gloss the same way as you would traditional lip products. Starting with the lower lip, apply the lip gloss in one smooth stroke along the natural lip line. Continue to follow the natural lip line as you proceed to your upper lip. You can use natural or synthetic lip brushes just make sure it is thin enough to do the job.

To bring out the outline of your lips, use a mineral powder that complements your mineral lip gloss. Apply a few drops of water to the powder and use a lip liner brush to perfect the shape of your lips. Then, apply your mineral lip gloss.

Use mineral powders wet and apply to lips. Any color you can create can be mixed and covered with clear gloss to add the shine.

Bleeding is not a problem with mineral lip gloss. Coverage is smooth and stays on all day with no moisture loss.
